🌿 What to Expect at Little Magic Treehouse
Welcome to a place where play meets purpose! At Little Magic Treehouse, we nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection through a warm, play-based preschool experience for children ages 3 to 5.
🕒 A Gentle Daily Rhythm
What does a day at preschool look like?
Our classes follow a child-centered flow that blends structure with freedom. A typical day includes:
🌞 Welcome & Circle Time – Songs, greetings, and shared stories
🌳 Free Play – Daily movement, climbing, games, reading, and free exploration
🧩 Learning – Hands-on play in addition to structured learning with letters, numbers, art, and nature
🍎 Snack & Count – Shared snacks including a variety of fruits, vegetables and non-perishables such as animal crackers
🎶 Closing Circle Time – Reflect, story time, and prepare for pickup
👶 Small Class Sizes for Big Growth
Each class is limited to just 6 - 8 students, allowing every child to be seen, heard, and supported. Small groups foster calm routines, stronger peer relationships, and personalized attention.
🧠 Play-Based Learning That Prepares
Our curriculum is rich in early academics, emotional development, and real-life skills:
📘 Early literacy & language
🔢 Beginning math concepts
🎨 Creative expression
🧠 Problem-solving & independence
💬 Social skills & emotional intelligence
We help children become kind, confident, curious learners—ready for a smooth kindergarten transition.
💚 Emotional Growth Is Just as Important
Big feelings are part of growing up—and we create space to explore them safely. Children learn to:
😌 Recognize and name emotions
🧍♀️ Express themselves clearly
🤝 Navigate friendships & conflicts
❤️ Build empathy and self-confidence
These skills reduce tantrums, support better peer interactions, and build a strong foundation for lifelong emotional health.

💛 Supporting Children with Unique Needs
🤝 Individualized Care & Understanding
With experience working in various special needs settings, I’m well-versed in supporting children who benefit from extra love, guidance, and flexibility. If your child has special needs—or you’re unsure but have concerns—I’d be happy to speak with you directly to better understand your child and determine if our program is a good fit.
🧩 What Special Needs Might Include:
While every child is unique, some examples of special needs may include:
-
🌀 Behavioral or emotional outbursts that go beyond typical developmental responses
-
🧠 ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorders
-
🦶 Physical delays or mobility challenges
-
🗣️ Speech or language delays
📏 A Small Program With Big Heart
As a small, private preschool, I strive to be inclusive and supportive. However, it’s important to note that I may not have access to the full range of resources or support services offered by public schools or larger institutions.
📞 Let’s Talk!

🚽 Potty Training & Daily Readiness
At Little Magic Treehouse, we understand that bathroom independence is a developmental skill—and every child progresses at their own pace. Here’s what you need to know about potty expectations, clothing, and daily readiness for your child.
👶 Bathroom Independence
While accidents do occasionally happen in preschool, your child should be working toward full bathroom independence. This includes:
-
Pulling pants down and up without help
-
Wiping independently after using the toilet
-
Washing hands with soap and water
🔹 Tip: Please practice these skills at home so your child builds confidence in the routine.
👕 Dress for Success
To support independence, please dress your child in easy-on, easy-off clothing. Avoid items like overalls, belts, dresses, and tight leggings that can be tricky during bathroom breaks.
💡 If you're unsure about a specific outfit, do a quick “dress rehearsal” at home to see if your child can manage it without help. If not, it’s best to save that outfit for another day.
⛔ Please note: I cannot assist with every step of the bathroom process, especially while supervising a full class. Children must be able to manage their clothing as best as they can on their own.
🚫 No Diapers – Pull-Ups OK
While I cannot accommodate diaper changes, pull-ups are welcome if your child is still working on staying dry. Just be sure to send at least two backup pull-ups each day.
💩 In the event of a #2 accident, I will call a parent or guardian to assist, as I cannot manage toileting needs at that level while teaching.
🧳 What to Bring
To keep your child comfortable and prepared throughout the day, please make sure they come with the following:
🩲 1. Extra Clothing
-
A labeled ziplock bag with a full change of clothes: underwear, pants, shirt, and socks
-
For pull-up users: minimum of 2 backups daily
-
Extra clothes may be brought daily or left at school
💧 2. Water Bottle
-
Send a labeled water bottle with your child every day
🎒 3. Backpack & Folder
-
Each child receives a folder to carry home papers and artwork
-
Please send a standard-sized backpack—toddler bags are too small to fit the folder
🎨 Optional Family Contributions
Occasionally, I may ask for recyclable or household items to support a class project. These requests will always be optional and communicated in advance.
Thank you for helping your child arrive ready to learn and grow each day! If you have any questions or need clarification on these policies, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
