About LMT

At Little Magic Treehouse (LMT for short), we spark curiosity and nurture joyful hearts through a play-based, academically rich program designed for children ages 3 to 5. With intentionally small class sizes, every child benefits from personalized attention in a warm, secure setting where learning is both fun and meaningful.
This curriculum lays the groundwork in key areas like science, math, and language arts, helping your child gain the skills and confidence needed for a successful start in kindergarten. With experience teaching both preschool and 1st grade, I understand what young learners need at each stage—and I’m committed to supporting your child’s smooth, confident transition into elementary school.
Equally important to academic readiness is emotional and social development. That’s why I place a strong emphasis on building emotional intelligence and developing communication skills. This includes helping little ones identify, verbalize, and process their emotions—leading to fewer tantrums and meltdowns, and more effective, positive interactions with peers. These skills not only build confidence and self-esteem but also carry over into relationships beyond the classroom.
With a background in speech and language, I also strive to create an environment where appropriate language skills can flourish. Through intentional support and playful learning, children at Little Magic Treehouse are encouraged to express themselves clearly and confidently, setting the stage for strong communication both now and in the future.
About Miss J
Hi, I’m a dedicated educator, caregiver, and community leader with over 15 years of hands-on experience in child development, special education, family support, and volunteer service. My journey has taken me through classrooms, therapy centers, homeschool environments, and humanitarian work—each one enriching my passion for helping others grow, learn, and thrive.
I’ve spent the last decade managing our household, homeschooling my children, and providing compassionate care for elderly family members. Through this, I’ve honed my skills in leadership, organization, conflict resolution, and adaptability—especially during major life transitions like relocating nine times across several states.
My background also includes professional roles in early childhood education, special education, and behavioral therapy. I’ve had the privilege of teaching and mentoring children with diverse needs and leading volunteer efforts in schools, churches, and community programs. Whether organizing events for hundreds or tutoring one-on-one, I bring heart, purpose, and a problem-solving mindset to everything I do.
Above all, I believe in the power of empathy, creativity, and lifelong learning. I’m always looking for ways to uplift others, collaborate meaningfully, and make a difference—whether in the classroom, in the home, or out in the world.
I have two children of my own and I enjoy spending time with the horse therapy program I work with in my free time.
